Wellll That was not what I expected to happen. My web page received a DMCA claim. Google sent me an email that said that one article from my site has been requested to be removed from Google search results. I was in sauna when I did read the email and was a little worried at first. I did not remembered what was in the article. Nothing worth DMCA claim, it was the affiliate link!

Company that made the claim is DMCA Guard Elite and if you want to read what Lumendatabase tells about the claim you can do it here. To me it somewhat looks that they did a google search and basically copy pasted what they found to the claim. Should I send a message to Alan Rose that company that protects him is …. welll a little too avid here? I did make a counter notification to google and they should sent it also to guard elite, if I understand things right.

What I did wrote to the counter notification?

I had to do a little reading first. I did know that I can use affiliate links, but I had to find right part of the TOS and that was not so easy that I thought. I was really confused first because what I read was that linking to Chaturbate is not allowed at all! Obviously this is not right. I finally did find right part of the TOS. After this find I started to write and wrote basically that DMCA claim is because of affiliate link and I have right to use those links and put a link to right part of the tos. I have not changed the article at all. There is no media at all on the page, just text and all the text is by me.

What next?

Next is just wait, I think. I have no idea how fast Google handles the counter notification, but I suspect it is not that fast, not in this week, maybe not even in this month. Luckily it is not my whole site that is removed from Google search results, just that one page. I hope this is just a single uuuppsiiieee, but I am not really counting on that. I would not be surprised at all if this is just start of DMCA claims if I continue to use affiliate links. I was a little hesitant to do the counter notification, because at his moment guard elite has not my personal information, but after Google sends the counter notification to them they have it. Of course they could find my information from other sources too, but that would have need them to do something, now I just sent that information to them.

We will see what happens. Hopefully it is just an email saying that uuupps our mistake! But I suspect that I will get no information at all from the company. Google will probably answer something. I will probably just leave this like it is now, regardless of what emails I get.
